Family physicians are a good option for patients with chronic illnesses. Any medical condition that lasts 6 months or more is considered a chronic disease. This includes diabetes, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal conditions, mental health, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cancer, stroke and other conditions. These are long lasting diseases and require the patient to start a regular treatment regimen including medication and lifestyle changes. One of the benefits of our chronic management plan is that it entitles you to Medicare funded visits to services such as: Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Exercise physiology and Diabetes. Chronic disease management plan has the following benefits: Promotes healthy living, Identifies your healthcare needs, Provides ongoing support.
Acute Illness
Acute illnesses arise suddenly, often without warning, and are short-lived. Acute diseases often produce symptoms that are severe, such as high fever, pain and complications of various systems and organs within the body, such as the respiratory system, digestive system, skin, eyes, liver, kidneys, and bladder. Early diagnosis of acute illness is important. An aggressive and informed approach to diagnosis and treatment can prevent that acute condition from developing into a chronic illness that may have a long- term impact on the patient and family. Services we provide but not limited to: Minor surgery, Laceration repair, Skin lesion removal, Fracture care, Incision and drainage of abscess, Joint injections, Upper respiratory ailments: bronchitis, pneumonia.
